Cycle through town to the farmers’ villages enjoying the panoramic scenery of paddy fields, seasonal crops, mountains, and a river. Experience the traditional lifestyle of Shan Villages by visiting houses, where women weave, roll cheroots and produce fans and bamboo baskets. Visit Shan royal family residence and have chat with Fern or with other family members. Stop at a Nat spirits shrine and Little Bagan
Late afternoon cycle out of town crossing a bridge over the Dokhtawaddy River. Continue up the steep hill towards the sunset viewpoint. Enjoy the sunset view over the Hsipaw valley, Dokhtawaddy River, and distant mountains. Cycle down the hill and back along the same route to the starting point.

Cross the junction of main Hsipaw road with Mandalay-Hsipaw highway. Pass the hospital, Maha Myat Muni Pagoda and traditional Shan villages of Tein Chae and Tein San. The road will take you from here along the river via the villages of Kun Chaung village and Naung Kait. Continue along the railway track until you find a small path through the rice fields. Cross the main highway and visit 9-9 pagoda and the tomb of Sir Sao Chae. (Great Uncle of the last Shan Prince who was ruling the province in the past). Cycle down to the main highway and continue along it to Bowgyo Pagoda. Come back using the same route and leave your bicycle at the multi-denominational cemetery. Walk up to the Nam Tok Waterfall. Take a bath if you wish. Go back to the main highway, cross the bridge and experience traditional lifestyle of Shan Villages by visiting houses, where women weave, roll cheroots and produce fans and bamboo baskets. Use the rural roads to come back to Hsipaw.
Remark: The trip can be extended by cycling along the main highway to Bowgyo Pagoda. It can be done after visiting 9-9 pagoda and before coming back to Hsipaw.
Note: Clients staying at the Hsipaw Resort can cross the river by boat and take the bicycles from there. Discovery DMC can arrange for the bicycles to be waiting for the clients on the other bank of the river. They can as well cycle from Hsipaw Resort along the main highway, cross the bridge over the Dokthawaddy River and continue to Hsipaw town, where the proper trip will begin. It will add approximately 2 miles to the cycling distance.
